We are working closely with a Special Education Needs school in the Luton area and Randstad is looking for a talented SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience working in different key stages. This is a great opportunity for an amazing individual who has the knowledge to work with children and young people with special educational needs. Having the experience of being able to apply strategies to help break down barriers towards children's learning and to ensure that every child has the best opportunity in terms of their education and learning

Responsibilities to become a successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be:

• Working with small groups and 1:1
• Assisting pupils with academic tasks
• Encouraging independence

• Ability to communicate with and encourage children with additional needs

These are some of the requirements that we need from you:

• Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
• Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
• Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational support role (required).
• Experience in managing challenging behaviour and implementing behaviour support plans.
• Understanding of special educational needs and individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Familiarity with the national curriculum and how to adapt it for SEN students.
• Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and safeguarding policies.
• Genuine interest in supporting the educational development of children with special needs.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience.
• A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong attention to detail and cultural sensitivity.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
• Ability to assist students with physical activities and personal care needs.
• Physical stamina to be active throughout the school day.
