About the role:

LKAB Minerals UK is looking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the post of Team Leader at Flixborough.

Providing day to day supervision of operators onsite, this role will provide a hands-on approach, to accomplish plant objectives in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Recovery, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction and Innovation. Efficient planning and proactive strategy development for optimisation of plant, equipment, and reports.

Accountable for the safe and efficient running of the site-specific business area, at which they are based, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all staff, visitors, members of the public around all areas of operation by LKAB Minerals and LKAB.

Role Description

  • Responsible for handling of materials around site - mixing, bagging, transport and loading of finished and raw materials
  • Adherence and compliance to applicable legislations and LKAB policies on health, safety, quality and environmental; including the 9001, 14001 and 45001 company accreditations.
  • Ensure all tasks are risk assessed and safe systems of work developed, and suitable control measures implemented
  • Responsible for day to day operation of equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation.
  • Operation of the plant to deliver optimum productivity, efficiency, quality and performance.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure routine inspections are carried out across the area of responsibility
  • Responsible for the efficient execution of orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Recording and management of stock
  • Play active role in OEE to improve efficiency within the business unit
  • Closely monitors quality of raw materials and finished products and all testing Involvement within the Operational Efficiency programme
  • Minimise business losses - Reports all damage and monitors waste tipped reporting where necessary
  • Proactive member of Lean rollout and promote continuous improvement
  • Support team leaders across site to promote best practices and ways of working.
  • Undertake reasonable tasks as allocated by the company in addition to those defined

Desirables:

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence
  • Previous experience in line management position
  • Experience in a heavy industry environment
