About the role
The Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) Team is a multi-disciplinary team providing expert independent assessment and support to families in care proceedings where drugs and or alcohol are a significant issue.
The FDAC Team Manager is responsible for leading the multi-disciplinary FDAC Team and ensuring effective collaboration with partner agencies locally and nationally. FDAC has an established track record of forming effective working relationships with parents to address problem drug and alcohol use so that children in our communities are provided with safe and secure care. It is a unique safeguarding role that provides an opportunity to work with a broad range of professionals and organisations, including being part of the growing national network of FDACs.
What will you be doing?
To lead, manage and direct a Northamptonshire Children’s Trust social care team for children and young people, including statutory child protection and regulated adoption and fostering services to ensure that all children who are the responsibility of the relevant area team or centrally based service are safeguarded.
To improve outcomes for children and young people in receipt of these services who are looked after by the local authority, deemed to be children in need or in need of protection from significant harm (as defined by the 1989 Children Act) and therefore are amongst the most vulnerable in society.
To deliver the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust statutory responsibilities to safeguard and promote the welfare of these children.
About you
The right candidate will be a qualified Social Worker, with current Social Work England registration, and ideally with a Level 5 NVQ Management qualification, or equivalent relevant experience. You will have the ability to manage a team and ensure development and performance issues are addressed though support and coaching. You will have previous budgetary control experience, ICT skills and the ability to represent the service at a more senior level if required.
