Buckinghamshire Council is looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead our First Response Team in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). About the Role:As a Team Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of social workers and allied staff who deliver statutory services to children in need of support, protection, and care. Your role is critical in managing staff, setting direction, and ensuring high standards in a multi-agency environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
- Improving life chances for children in care or with their families.
- Leading, managing, and supervising social work practice.
- Making evidence-based decisions to ensure positive outcomes.
- Overseeing the delivery of social work services and reviewing their impact.
- Assuring the quality of practice, managing performance, and delivering value for money.
Main Duties:
- Provide effective leadership and supervision to teams, ensuring high standards and best practices.
- Lead local service developments to meet national priorities in children's services.
- Conduct performance management and mentor specialist officers.
- Provide expert advice to colleagues, external agencies, and the general public.
- Lead the integration of new policies and procedures into social work practice.
- Monitor and improve service user satisfaction, handling complaints and incidents.
- Conduct regular workload reviews and manage caseloads effectively.
- Lead on audits and quality assurance activities, ensuring continuous service improvements.
About You:We are looking for a leader with:
- A recognised social work qualification and HCPC registration.
- Experience in managing staff in a statutory children's social work setting.
- A commitment to improving services for children and families.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex workloads.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to ensure quality standards and performance management.
Person Specification:
- Essential: Experience in managing teams within children's social care, HCPC registration, a recognised social work qualification, and post-qualification professional development.
- Desirable: Leadership and management training, experience in service improvements and quality assurance.
