Technical BuyerHailsham, East SussexPermanent Full timeTechnical BuyerOur client supply specialist equipment designed and manufactured in-house for the Advanced Materials industry, their technology is sold throughout the world and offers customers research or production scale machines to process feedstock material into a range of high value-added products for the aerospace, defence, and general engineering sectors.Role DescriptionAn experienced technical buyer to lead the company’s purchasing, stock control and sub- contractors, ensuring all orders / contracts are delivered on time and within agreed budgets.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the company’s purchasing function, including request for quotations (RFQ’s)purchase order generation, stock control and materials workflow.

• Co-ordinate with manufacturing, production and design teams.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors according to our Production / Project planning needs.
• Manage and lead supplier relations, including expansion of our supplier base to support the company’s growth.
• Understand and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Support the Sales and Finance teams with cost requirements.
• Work closely with Design Engineers and Production Managers to coordinate and plan requirements according to project / contract deadlines.
• Develop a coordinated approach to the areas of buying, scheduling, and cost management.

The role is based at their Hailsham site.
