We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Innovation Coordinator to join our team within Vistry Services, supporting various locations across the business. As our Technical Innovation Coordinator, you will assist the Technical Innovation team in the delivery of product site trials, Vistry’s Zero Carbon Roadmap including providing technical robust solutions for, The Future Homes Standards and Zero Carbon Homes.

    • Educated to HNC/HND in a construction / environmental / Engineering related qualification.
    • Technical knowledge/understanding of all forms of construction methods including MMC systems in housebuilding.
    • Understanding of policy context and market drivers/challenges for MMC/Innovation.
    • An understanding of integrating MMC, heat pumps, solar PV, battery energy storage and electric vehicle charging points
    • Experience of Timber Frame such as design, regulation and manufacture
    • Ability to network and work effectively within organisations and the wider housing sector to support governance and decision-making processes
    • Quick and eager to learn, with a focus on continuous development
    • Well organised and methodical and technically competent with an eye for detail

  • More about the Technical Innovation Coordinator role...
    • Assist the Technical Innovation team in the delivery of innovative and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) supporting the business units with the relevant guidance and information needed to ensure successful implementation of MMC.
    • Assist the Group Technical Innovation team and wider business to identify and understand risks and opportunities in future services and utilities provision on Vistry Group’s developments including low carbon heating solutions, electric vehicle infrastructure, broadband requirements, water efficiency and smart home technology.
    • Carry out analytical assessments for the Group on key areas associated to Innovation, including energy efficiency as-built performance, waste management, overheating and embodied carbon.
    • Assist the development and delivery of zero-carbon homes roadmap for the Vistry Group.
    • Report on new associated regulation requirements.
    • Liaise with regional business units and attend meetings to progress all matters relevant to the role.
    • Support low energy technology trials including facilitating workshops sessions with regional teams, trades, sales and site management to capture lessons learnt and delivery continuous improvement.
    • Support the team’s communication strategy ensuring all business units and relevant external stakeholders remain informed.
    • Support bid writing with the land and planning team and ensure all areas relating to technical sustainability have been covered sufficiently.
    • Carry out analytical assessments for the Group on key areas associated to innovation, new products, embodied carbon.
    • Keep the business informed with new innovations and case studies via regular communications through VIBE and other media.  
    • To work with the Group Head of Technical Innovation in delivering Group initiatives for Modern Methods of Construction, new product analysis, development and roll out.
    • Analysing and evaluating both on and offsite improvement opportunities (MMC), assessing potential suppliers and preparing technical reports.
    • Assist in the development of bespoke standard details with suppliers and both external consultants and internal technical teams.
    • Support the design of new house type ranges that complement the use of MMC
    • Assist in the development of working drawings for new house types.
    • Assist in liaising with external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information, design packages to an agreed programme, fee and scope.
    • Capture learnings with regional teams to conduct evidence-based assessments of new innovations and MMC including KPI’s relating to quality, speed, costs, environmental and health and safety.
    • Facilitate workshops sessions with trades, site management, divisional teams and external suppliers as required.
    • Attend site progress meetings and carry out site inspections where MMC/innovative systems are utilised.
