Our client based in Middlesbrough is looking to recruit an experienced Lab Terchinician to work in a busy manufacturing environment.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the preparation of all products prior to handover for packaging. Maintenance of all raw ingredient stocks.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- To wear company supplied PPE
- Offloading of all base liquid tankers - may be dependent on the physical capabilities of the Technician
- Analytical testing of tankers and other bulk liquid materials
- Ensure packaging lines are serviced with products as required - may be dependent on the physical capabilities of the Technician
- Fill height checks on all bottling lines
- Analytical testing of in-process products.
- Analytical & microbiological testing of finished products
- Microbiological preparation work.
- Calibration of laboratory and factory equipment on a daily basis.
- In-process packaging checks on all products.
- Random torque and CO2 checks throughout the shift.
- Paperwork checks on in-process and finished products throughout the shift.
- Final pack packaging checks.
- To inform the Technical Manager/ Technical Quality Lead of any out of specification results.
- Ensure correct recording of actions within IFS stock inventory system
- Ensure all documentation is completed and record all documentation legibly and correctly.
- Ensure documentation is scanned/ attached to IFS as appropriate
- Ensure all tanks and pipe work is cleaned following the correct procedures and correctly documented.
- Inform Material Stock Controller/ Technical Manager/Technical Quality Lead immediately of any shortages of materials.
- Ensure the work area and laboratory is kept clean & tidy. Follow the glass breakage procedure immediately for any breakages that may occur.
- Carry out Monthly Glass and Plastic Audits
- Report any faulty or broken equipment to the Technical Manager/ Technical Quality Lead
- Ensure a correct shift handover takes place with other Technicians.
- To provide holiday cover for other Technicians when necessary.
- Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Technical Manager/ Technical Quality Lead.
- To carry out all the above duties in a safe and sensible manner, adhering to all Health & Safety standards.
- Support in the training and development of new starters, apprentices and graduates as required.
- Contribute to the development of procedures/ work instructions and continuous improvement activities.

Key Skills & Experience:
Highly organised with good prioritisation skills and IT literate.
QA or technical experience within a factory environment
Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
Willingness and ability to be flexible
Hours of work 6am to 4pm Mon - Thu
Salary £15.43 per hour
