Technical Manager - Reed : Job Details

We are seeking a Technical Manager to join our team in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in food production, particularly in a senior technical or quality management capacity. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our technical standards and ensuring food safety and quality across the operations.

• Develop the Technical Services Manager into a step up/step down role and manage the technical team including a Technical Administrator and Quality Controller.
• Create and implement a clear training plan for Quality Assurance staff, including professional courses to support roles such as HACCP, Food Hygiene, and Internal Auditing.
• Embed a culture of customer satisfaction, addressing the needs of both internal and external customers.
• Manage technical action plans at the site level and lead the Site HACCP team.
• Oversee service supplier relationships for the site, including pest control.
• Ensure Supplier Approval is maintained and up-to-date for all suppliers to the site.
• Lead the development and implementation of a technical management system from scratch to ensure food safety and quality.

• Extensive experience at a senior level in the food production sector, including working with retail clients and in customer-facing roles.
• Previous management or team leader experience in a technical and/or quality capacity.
• Level 4 HACCP certification.
• Lead Audit experience.
• Proven experience in devising and implementing a technical management system that ensures food safety and quality.
