We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead our technical team at our brand-new snacks site. This pivotal role involves driving and achieving the highest quality standards of our world-class products through effective team management. The Technical Manager will ensure factory compliance with legal requirements, food safety, HACCP, housekeeping, and customer expectations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations across the business.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Collaborate daily with the Head of Manufacturing to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Lead customer complaint trending; analyse and ensure proactive escalation and implementation of identified actions.
  • Oversee daily technical operations, including taste panels and RAG documents.
  • Maintain the HACCP food safety plans and Quality Management System (QMS) in line with company and customer requirements.
  • Prepare daily product quality reports for the Senior Management Team.
  • Organize and conduct traceability and product recall/withdrawal testing.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the technical and hygiene teams, conduct performance reviews, and promote a continuous improvement culture.
  • Update internal and external technical specifications as required.
  • Ensure site technical governance to achieve audit compliance and direct ownership of site visits.
  • Maintain consistent audit readiness and drive the quality culture across site teams.
  • Conduct cross-site QMS auditing and cover for the Head of Technical during absences.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a Technical Manager or Quality Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of BRC or similar audits and customer-facing roles.
  • Proficient in quality assurance and control principles.
  • Experienced in managing people and building strong relationships with operational teams.
  • Internal auditor trained with HACCP experience.
  • Confident communicator across all business levels, adept in handling audits and interacting with visitors.
  • Committed to continuous improvement with a good sense of humour and team player attitude.
  • High level of personal accountability, organised, and detail oriented.
  • Quality and Technical champion within the business.
