Technical Parking & Traffic Director
We are hiring for a Technical Parking & Traffic Director position on a full-time, permanent basis, reporting to the Regional Director. This role involves providing leadership, governance, and direction to contribute to the success of business plans and strategies.
The ideal candidate will have experience in quality assurance and technical leadership, proficiency in writing and reviewing technical reports, and a background in parking and traffic. Knowledge of legislation, strategic planning, and guides is essential.

What we are looking for
- Degree or equivalent
- At least 15 years' experience working in a Traffic and/or Parking environment
- Experience of managing large teams and significant budgets at senior level
- Member of a Professional Institute and preferably Chartered with CIHT or ICE
Your duties will include
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, adopting a collaborative partnership approach and negotiate with internal and external business partners, clients, and customers.
- Deliver and contribute to the success of business plans and strategies, developing, tracking, and securing new opportunities in the public and private sectors that will enable the Traffic & Parking team to meet growth aspirations.
- Lead and mentor direct reports and teams of engineers to support project delivery. Ensure that staff are provided with the appropriate information technology and appropriate training to maintain high-quality service delivery at all times.
- Report and contribute at operational team meetings and implement agreed management strategies and line manage up to six direct reports, undertaking annual appraisals to agree, monitor and measure performance targets.
- Manage programmes of work and deliver expert technical support, input, and services in the delivery of Traffic and/or Parking projects including all Transportation and highway schemes from inception to completion.
- Monitor utilisation of managed teams and take ownership of emerging issues with workload and pipeline. Provide leadership and direction with responsibility and accountability for ensuring quality products, consistent performance, best practice, and technical excellence.
- Proactively recruit and develop quality resources and assist in the management of resources and service delivery cross-regionally, working closely with other service leads. Arrange and attend formal and regular liaison meetings with colleagues to assist in the coordination of resources and activities across the company.
- Support regional financial performance through management of key accounts, debt management, project oversight, staff resourcing, resource scheduling and pipeline analysis.
