Role Overview
This role is for Atlanta Group, part of the Markerstudy Group.
Atlanta, part of the Markerstudy Group, are looking for a Technical Pricing Manager to lead the technical pricing strategy for our delegated authority insurance products while overseeing a team of analysts.
Your role is critical in ensuring accurate risk pricing, ensuring a good balance of model refreshes vs improved sophistication, and setting our long-term strategy for risk pricing.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, build, monitor and develop risk pricing models whilst leading a team of analysts.
As a Technical Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for the following core activities:
- Lead the build and development of risk pricing models across all product lines ensuring a strong balance is maintained between accuracy and interpretability
- Contribute and oversee the development of model monitoring frameworks ensuring ongoing updates to risk models continue at an appropriate frequency to maintain a strong level of accuracy
- Contribute to delivering our commercial objectives by continuing to build and maintain our risk pricing models efficiently to achieve profitable growth for the wider business and our capacity partners
- Owning relationships with our key internal and external stakeholders being the technical pricing expert across each product line
- Supporting key projects across the business as a pricing SME, owning workstreams and deliverables end to end
- Work with the Portfolio Management and Underwriting teams on risk appetite, product development and innovation to ensure that pricing models have the appropriate level of expert input
- Responsibility for the management and development of the team
- Collaborate with peers in pricing, underwriting and data science
Key Skills and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of predictive modelling techniques including GLM and GBM and/or ML techniques
- Significant experience using WTW Emblem and Radar software including the build and development of Radar models.
- Advanced knowledge of UK Personal Lines Insurance markets
- Proven track record of embracing and thriving in a fast-paced environment of constant change
- Previous personal lines pricing experience in the UK
- Previous experience with management of a pricing and/or analytical team
- Proficient at communicating results in a concise manner both verbally and written
