KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Services Operatives will directly undertake fire door inspection routines reporting to the Head of Technical Services. They must utilize the equipment, materials and other resources made available to them, and work in collaboration with team members and contractors to ensure the highest quality of service is provided.
The Technical Services Operative should:
- Conduct quarterly inspections of all common part fire doors across various sites.
- Perform annual inspections of flat front doors to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Identify and report any defects, wear and tear, or non-compliance issues utilising dedicated software.
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, including dates, findings and actions taken.
- Stay up to date with the latest fire safety regulations and standards.
- Participate in fire safety audits and reviews as required.
- Communicate effectively with building managers, residents, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety issues and inspection schedules.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to fire safety and door inspections.
We are Technical Services team based at the Head Office in Borehamwood, rapidly expanding and currently conducting fire door inspections on 39 active developments out of 56 managed. Our program operates from 9 to half 5, with Monday usually spent in the office for briefing and producing reports, Tuesday to Thursday dedicated to on-site fire door inspections and Fridays are reserved for debriefing back in the office. Our primary focus at present is on fire door inspections and reports. Additionally, we have plans to launch a second service soon. The salary bracket for this role is 32K - 35K, with induction, training and necessary qualifications provided.
The right candidate would be:
- Possesses a technical or maintenance background.
- Demonstrates adaptability and openness to learning.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Holds a valid driving license and access to a car is a must.
- Experienced in maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks such as weekly and monthly testing.
- Preferable to have experience with fire doors.
- Competitive salary range of £32,000 to £35,000, with the upper end reserved for candidates who closely match the specified criteria.
