Technology Solutions Manager - BI/Data - Zenzo Digital : Job Details

Our client is a made up of a few similar businesses with 180+ retail stores that form part of a Group. Whilst keeping the brand identity for each business, they are looking to centralise all services at Group level including HR, Finance and Technology.

Significant investment has been made to transform the business to improve customer experience and internal working practices to make their operations more efficient. There is a Technology roadmap in place to support this which has included migrating all businesses onto one common platform. From there they are looking at technology to support growth with improved data, automation and integration. As a result of this we are looking for a Technology Solutions Manger to oversee and drive the delivery of this.

Working in the Build phase of the Plan, Build and Run methodology, this role will be managing a small team that receive requirements from the business to then determine how the solution is designed and implemented. This will be managed through a combination of internal resources and 3rd party vendors. All solutions are Data and Software Development focussed with technology focussed on SQL Server, Power BI, Azure Fabric with security best practices built in.

This person will need to have a technical background, has designed and built solutions and also has experience of managing teams and external partners to deliver.

Skills Required:

• Technical background in Development and Data. Perhaps been a Developer or Data Engineer previously that has worked there way up to Management level but still into the detail.
• Experience of designing data and integration solutions. Not a Solutions Architect although any experience in this area is nice to have.
• Has managed small teams to deliver solutions in data and development. Need to have good person management skills to assign work and optimise performance.
• Vendor Management experience is also key to set up the relationship effectively to deliver successful projects.
• Previously worked for some kind of distributed business such as Retail where there are multiple stores that feed into an overall group or HQ. Can be the same business with multiple stores or multiple different business linked by a Group
• Remote working predominantly but need to be able to travel a bit to meet the teams and vendors 1-2 times per month. Team is South East based but the business has offices or sites across the South.
• This will suit someone that can work with ambiguity and constant change as they go through this programme of work to establish systems and processes that you might expect at more mature organisations. The role requires resistance and resourcefulness, but also someone that thrives on the challenge of establishing something new and improved.
