My client is leading the way in horticulture and is proud to be one of the largest horticultural companies in the UK and Europe, currently recruiting within their pet sales division an experienced Territory Area Sales Manager, covering North East / Yorkshire to Newcastle. A privately owned FMCG business & market leader, supplying a range of gardening, pet care and environmental products to the UK retail market, grocers and a vast network of independents and wholesalers.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills within a fast moving, entrepreneurial business working within an exciting channel. The role is responsible for building and developing customer relationships in the Pet Channel, driving in-store distribution through existing and new business. Working for a leading bird food manufacturer this role is focused around increasing brand awareness, event and display execution to increase turnover and market share.

A Company car (Passat or Golf) + anual bonus is avilable along with a competative salary

Main Duties

  • To strengthen our existing customer relationships with around 50 retailers, varying from Country Stores, Feed Warehouse’s and Pet Shops and identify key levers for sustainable growth opportunities
  • Increasing distribution of our brands through new customers is a key target for this area. Developing prospecting strategies to identify our biggest opportunities will be key.
  • Develop promotional strategies specific to the retailer network to ensure we are maximising our return on investment and driving incremental growth.
  • Achieve specific annual sales targets and also NPD targets as requested.
  • To produce weekly call reports for the independent channel manager as requested.
  • Develop strong relationships with store managers of a National Wholesaler in the territory and identify key areas of opportunity.
  • Drive in-store excellence through POS and merchandising to ensure our products have maximum presence in store.
  • Deliver in store training to customers on our product ranges and brands to drive mutual retailer growth.

The right candidate will be energetic, pro-active with a real flair for building long-term customer relationships and show resilience, drive and commitment to achieving KPI’s.

You will have previous experience and knowledge within Petcare / Pet Accessories / Pet Brands / Vet Vales

This is a mobile role; you will be happy to meet clients F2F daily.

Covering Yorkshire/Northeast to Newcastle.

A drive for progression within the business is critical to long-term success.
