The Role

As a Theatre Practitioner, you'll be part of a dedicated and dynamic theatre team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of the operating theatre, intensive care, and sterilisation departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and operate theatre resources to ensure an effective surgical environment.
  • Assist in all aspects of the patient pathway, from initial assessments to recovery.
  • Support A&E, plaster care, and ITU, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct decontamination and sterilisation of instruments, maintaining a quality assurance trail.
  • Take on advanced roles, including casting, supporting trauma and intensive care cases.
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rota for emergency and aeromedical evacuations.

The Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for a resilient and adaptable Theatre Practitioner who can work independently and as part of a small, skilled team. You should have a passion for providing high-quality care in a dynamic and changing environment. About you:

  • HCPC Registered ODP or 1st Level NMC.
  • 7 years of experience in a theatre, with a strong background in trauma, intensive care, and surgery.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a small team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to work in a variety of settings, including on-call and unsocial hours.
