Job Title : Trade Compliance Coordinator

Your New Salary: up to£150 p/day (£39K equivalent)

Location: Central London (4 days a week in the office)

Duration: Long term temporary assignment until end December 2025

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

What You'll be Doing:

You will assist in the delivery of the Trade Compliance Strategy and ensure day to day compliance with cross border requirements.

Responsibilities:

Customs Compliance Administration

  • Advise customs brokers of clearance instructions including commodity codes, Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs), and any specific import restrictions for any given product.
  • Provide accurate commodity codes for products to the business and associated carriers
  • Ensure accurate customs data on invoices submitted to authorities: o Liaise with internal teams including Sourcing, Product Development, Global Logistics to understand product and shipping requirements
  • Provide accurate data to business
  • Develop a working knowledge of the IT Software solution managed by the business, namely MIC and SAP.
  • Manage CITES documentation and process across the business, advising on requirements
  • Maintain metrics reflecting key Trade Compliance areas, including duty spend, number of customs entries and Customs audits
  • Audit customs entries each month, to ensure brokers are complying with written instructions

Preferential Origin/Free Trade Agreement management

  • Manage the companies process for requesting LTSDs from vendors.
  • Audit and review current LTSDs to ensure vendors are compliant.
  • Investigate opportunities for the company to utilise Free Trade Agreements - provide accurate advice on preferential origin requirements to the business

Projects

  • Assist in projects to improve Customs compliance within the company, automate processes and optimise duty payments

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Basic understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, incoterms, customs warehousing preferred
  • Logistics or customs brokerage experience preferred
  • Institute of Export Exams (or equivalent)
  • Basic use of SAP preferred
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as being confident to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with commercial functions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates initiative and drive to meet deadlines and work in a diverse environment
  • Italian language an advantage
