Assistant to Import TDM

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant to Import Trade Development Manager to join our Import Commercial team on our Africa and Indian Ocean trade lanes. The successful candidate will support the Trade Development Manager to maintain and grow the Trade. Reporting, quoting and analysis make up the main duties within this role along with maintaining databases and research to retain and develop new customers.
Skills and experience you’ll bring to us
- Previous experience within an Import/Export environment is essential
- Previous experience of reporting & compiling statistics
- Ability to maintain high level of customer service under pressure
- Excellent telephone manner
- Time management skills required
- Strong telesales and negotiation skills essential
- Ability to demonstrate a professional manner at all times
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages essential

- Supporting the Trade Development Manager to maximize the growth of the trade
- Production of various weekly and monthly reports
- Complete analysis of trade/Intermodal/customer activities
- Quoting and following up all rate enquires
- Supporting the Trade Development Manager in the retention of customers
- Maintaining all databases
- Build relationships with customer base and MSC Origin offices
- Telesales action to increase company profile
- Research of Industry and customer activities
