Job Description :

My Client, an International bank in the City, seeks a middle office Trade Finance Operations officer, to join their broader structured finance team in London.

The role will involve :

  • Responsibility for the operational management of guarantee, letter of credits and working capital products.
  • Process transactions in line with policies and procedures, ensuring high efficiency and focus to minimize operational loss.
  • Understand trade finance customers and meet their specific requirements and provide advice on trade related transactions.
  • Analyze guarantees to determine workability, ensuring all ambiguities / contradictions are addressed and all potential risks concerning the wordings are raised and either accepted by the business or mitigated – where required in cooperation with Legal.
  • Process all aspects of guarantees and letters of credit including issuance, amendment, cancellation, advising, processing payments, claiming commissions in close cooperation with the relevant teams at Head Office level
  • Process all aspects of working capital products (Receivables Finance, Supply Chain Finance) including set up, amendments, cancellations, advising, processing payments, claiming commissions in close cooperation with the relevant teams
  • Ensure all work is completed timely and accurately within agreed times.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient records and file transactions appropriately and accurately.
  • Perform due diligence checks, applying a risk-based approach and support KYC tasks in respect of trade finance clients.
  • Monitor exposure / limit utilization. Monitoring KPI’s.
  • Produce various reports.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of respective laws and regulations along with the Bank´s policies and procedures.
  • Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the workflows.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned in back office and commercial activity including customer on-boarding, settlement of payment transactions and providing client service to global clients with operational issues
