Job Purpose

This role is within the Exotic Rates Derivatives Trade Validation team in Product Control, reporting to the Global Head of Macro and Credit Derivatives Trade Validation based in London. The role involves close collaboration with Sales & Trading, Back Office, other Middle Offices, DRIVE, and project teams globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade Validation: Validate Exotic Rates Derivatives trades at inception and throughout their lifecycle; manage amendments according to the Amend & Cancel policy.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Implement controls to ensure compliance with new regulatory requirements and enhance derivative booking processes.
  • Performance & Development: Oversee staff objectives, coordinate training, and support individual development through coaching and mentoring.
  • Controls & Risk Management: Ensure a robust control framework to manage operational risks; monitor audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Global Oversight: Provide oversight of global production, KPIs/KRIs, and incident tracking across regions. Lead functional teams and process improvements.
  • Process Optimization: Review and implement process reengineering, automation, and IT requirements. Identify risks and improve F2B processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, represent operations in new business activities, and contribute to the Target Operating Model.
  • Efficiency & Transformation: Collaborate on the transformation strategy for Trade Validation, ensuring effective project delivery across global teams.
Key Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in a Rates Derivatives Middle Office role at an investment bank.
  • Strong understanding of control functions and operational risks within an investment banking environment.
  • People management skills, with experience in leading and mentoring teams.
  • Experience assisting with project management, particularly related to migration and transformation.
  • Ability to manage relationships and drive process improvements across global teams.
