Trainee Behaviour Mentors Required!

This role involves working closely with students in school settings, helping them develop positive behaviours and thrive in their educational environment.
About the Role:
- Position: Behavioural Specialist
- Location: Primary and secondary schools in the local area
- Placement Types: Short-term, long-term, and potential permanent roles
Skills & Qualifications Needed:
- Proven experience in working with children or young people with behavioural challenges (e.g., in a school, residential, or youth setting)
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students who require additional support
- Knowledge of behavioural management strategies and the ability to apply them effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a consistent support network for students
Suitable Backgrounds Include:
- Previous roles such as teaching assistant, youth worker, learning mentor, SEN support, or social work
- Professional training or experience in mental health, special educational needs (SEN), or social care
Your Role
- Supporting a range of vulnerable children ranging from Reception to KS4
- Be able to appropriately calm children down and de-escalate
- Be able to effectively behaviour manage
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Be available - Full time - 8.15am - 3.30pm

- You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
