Job Description :

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad, hands-on experience in all aspects of accounting and make a real impact within a close-knit team. You'll work directly with experienced accountants, learning and growing alongside the team.

Responsibilities:

* Financial Record Management (Hands-On):

o Dive into real-world accounting using Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate financial records. This includes recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

o Contribute directly to the preparation of financial reports, seeing your work make a tangible difference.

* Tax & VAT Returns (Practical Application):

o Learn to prepare and submit tax and VAT returns using IRIS software.

o Gain practical experience with popular accounting software like Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent, becoming proficient in their use.

* Tax Computations (Real-World Learning):

o Assist in preparing corporation and income tax computations, gaining a solid understanding of current accounting principles and policies.

o Learn how to ensure client compliance.

* Payroll Processing (Direct Responsibility):

o Take ownership of operating BrightPay to process payslips and P11Ds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

* Client Communication (Building Relationships):

o Develop strong professional relationships with our valued clients through phone and in-person interactions.

o Provide personalised support and address client queries with confidence.

* Deadline Management (Essential in a Small Team):

o Contribute to the smooth operation of our practice by meeting tight deadlines and managing your workload effectively.

o Understand the importance of efficiency in a small team.

Skills and Qualifications:

* A genuine passion for accounting and a desire to learn.

* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

* Ability to thrive in a 1 collaborative, small-team environment.
