About Us

NJR Recruitment are partnered with a well establish Chartered financial planning firm who are currently looking for a Technical Sales Support /Paraplanner to assist their Financial Planner in providing expert guidance to their clients. This Paraplanner will have a key role in preparing for client meetings by conducting analysis, opportunity spotting and drafting suitability reports. The Paraplanner will need to have a strong understanding of pre and post-retirement planning, investments, and taxation.

Key Responsibilities of the Paraplanner:

  • Understand and articulate the Financial Planner's requirements.
  • Analyze clients’ existing financial arrangements and conduct gap analyses.
  • Research investment products in alignment with clients’ objectives and circumstances.
  • Prepare clear and compliant Suitability and Ongoing Suitability Reports.
  • Organize and prep cases for client meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Financial Planner to meet service level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulatory requirements.
  • Develop professional relationships with product providers.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance client experience and identify improvements.

Essential Experience/Qualifications :

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Confident in influencing at all levels.
  • Highly numerate with keen analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in an IFA environment, with knowledge of retail investment products.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to balance commercial needs with compliance requirements.

Desriable Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with research tools and software (e.g., FE Analytics, Iress, Dynamic Planner).
  • Experience with Intelligent Office (IO) back office system.
  • Knowledge of Structured Products, IHT Planning, SIPP providers, and specialist funds.
  • Understanding of industry legislation, including MiFID II, GDPR, and AML.
  • Willingness to pursue continuous professional development, including Level 4 Financial Services Diploma qualification.
