Trainee Thrust Boring Site Operative who is highly motivated, physically fit with a positive attitude looking for an outdoor 'hands on’ role, that can offer specialist training in Horizontal Directional Drilling, Guided Auger Boring and other specialist trenchless technology techniques.

FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

All levels of experience considered. Candidates do not necessarily need previous construction or civil engineering experience as full training will be provided. However, will require a technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills.

LOCATION: Olney, Buckinghamshire

This role will involve extensive UK travel with overnight stays. An additional allowance will be offered when working away from home.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday (However, there may be occasions when there is a potential to work Nights and Weekends at additional rates)

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will need a Driving Licence and their own vehicle to commute to the offices in Olney, Buckinghamshire. Company Transport will be provided when travelling to project sites nationwide.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee Thrust Boring Site Operative who is enthusiastic, highly motivated, physically fit with a positive attitude looking for an outdoor 'hands on’ role which can offer specialist training in trenchless techniques.

The Company is a specialist trenchless technology company, using a multitude of techniques, including horizontal directional drilling and guided auger boring, to supply various services to the construction and civil engineering sectors nationwide. The Company has been providing a quality and professional service for the last 30 years and are looking for motivated individuals to join one of the UK's leading No-Dig specialist team, on a full-time basis.

Working as the Trainee Thrust Boring Site Operative you will frequently travel the country with a team, assisting with all aspects of trenchless technology services provided by the company. Learning from the current lead drillers and becoming a core member of the team, with the view of becoming a skilled driller and Auger Bore Operator with the ambition to progress.

As a Trainee Thrust Boring Site Operative, you will carry out all work with a high level of health and safety awareness and following safe working practices at all times, to ensue the safety of yourself, colleagues, contractors and the public whilst on site.

Relevant experience in the industry is advantageous but not essential, as the Company is looking to develop successful candidates into fully qualified drilling and Auger Bore Operators. This will be achieved by completing both offsite and in-house training provided and paid for by the company.

Due to the company’s specialist nature, working nationwide, some projects will require stopping away, where an allowance of expenses along with accommodation will be provided by the company. Candidates, therefore, must be willing to spend time away from home Monday to Friday.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Trainee Thrust Boring Site Operative you will have the following skills and experience:

  • You will need a full valid UK drivers license and your own vehicle to be able to commute from home to the offices in Olney, Buckinghamshire. From the offices to the project locations you will travel in a company vehicle
  • You must be willing to stay away from home during the week whilst on projects as and when required
  • You must be flexible to work weekends or nights as and when required
  • You must demonstrate a positive, can do attitude, with a willingness to learn new skills
  • You must be able to demonstrate fluency in both verbal and written English
  • Previous working experience within the construction sector is advantageous but not essential
  • Skills related to directional drilling/guided auger boring are also advantageous but not essential
  • Successful applicants must obtain a CSCS/CPCS card at their own expense if not already owned
  • HGV class 2 license is advantageous but not essential. The Company has a singular Class 2 lorry that transports the equipment to site. Please note this role IS NOT a driving role.
