Fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join an established school in the East Grinstead area. Working 42 weeks per year, 38.25 hours/week.

Client Details

We are working with a small independent day school for children aged 4-19 years old. Providing support to those with a diagnosis of autism.

Description

* Carry out teaching sessions with pupils

* Record programme data as instructed by the Class Leader

* Work towards full time 1:1 teaching and keyworker responsibilities

* Supervise indoor and outdoor playtime and lunch on a rota basis

* Participate in staff meetings and training

* To provide personal care to those pupils who require assistance (toileting, nappy changing and feeding)

* Work as part of the classroom team providing support and instruction to children with autism and related communication disorders

Profile

* Patience and excellent communication skills are essential

* Believe in promoting independence

* Happy to be involved with physical activities including swimming, cycling, trampolining and horse riding

* Ideally have worked within an education or support worker environment
