Your new opportunity

Quarriers Ayrshire Youth Housing Service are currently recruiting a full time Transition Mentor (Outreach) to join our dedicated team who cover the South Ayrshire area supporting young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

As a Transition Mentor you will work with young people ages between 16-25 in their daily lives proving housing support, mentoring them to achieve their goals and ambitions. You will provide advise related to employment, education and social community integration. Some of the young people supported may have experienced trauma in their young lives and therefore building long lasting relationships and trust is key to ensure each person feels safe and their voice is heard. You will mentor within a community outreach service visiting people individually across South Ayrshire therefore must be willing to travel as and when required. You will have the autonomy to manage your own time with a combination of home based working and out and about in a community setting depending on service needs.

Working pattern: This is a full time, permanent role working 39 hours per week 5 days over 7, 8am - 8pm. Working days may vary depending on service delivery needs.

  • Proactive and skilled in building strong lasting relationships.
  • Due to the remit you will be covering, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
