Transport Manager - Futures Manufacturing : Job Details

Manufacturing Futures seek to appoint a Transport Manager with overall responsibility for a team of drivers, some fleet regulation and compliance, and overall logistics activity to ensure excellent customer service is delivered for all clients. Reporting into the Operations Director the appointed Transport Manager will objectively review and continually improve the whole transport operation, prediminatly own fleet with minimal outsourced solution when needed. It is important that you are comfortable in a lively environment with a quick pace and frequently changing priorities and that you can balance short term operational needs against achievement of longer term strategic objectives. The appointed Transport Manager will have good commercial experience alongside being a solid and experienced transport and logistics operator. It is very important that you have good compliance and regulatory experience. Transport Manager - Role and Responsibilities - National Transport Manager / Logistics / Distribution / Fleet / Supply Chain / Warehousing / NTM* Continually develop the department in order to provide a quality first class transport service to all customers* Proactively motivating the team to achieve planned targets and deadlines by providing guidance and encouragement* Ensure the operation achieves on time, accurate delivery, through effective use of the planning / scheduling information available* Optimise cost savings and adherence to budget, ensuring transport financial performance is within budget* Responsible for the continued development of the Transport Team including performance plans and reviews* Liaise closely with other departments, building a detailed understanding of the warehouse and systems functionTransport Manager - Skills and Abilities - National Transport Manager / Logistics / Distribution / Fleet / Supply Chain / Warehousing / NTM* Five years transport management experience, including experience managing a team* Comprehensive & up to date knowledge of transport law and regulations* Great working geographical knowledge of the country and the motorway network* Familiarity with transport management systemsTransport Manager / National Transport Manager / Logistics / Distribution / Fleet / Supply Chain / Warehousing / NTMIf this role appeals, please do apply now!
