Description
Key Responsibilities of the Transport Manager:
- Manage a large, modern fleet for a high value retail contract
- Oversee transport operations for a 1.5 million square foot distribution centre.
- Ensure high standards of service and efficiency.
- Ensuring O'Licence compliance in all areas of operation
- Providing a high level of accuracy in all information presented
- Managing and working closely with an existing team
- Overlooking all aspects of maintenance, ensuring the vehicles are compliant and well presented
- Carrying out driver training where required
- Focusing on ensuring we retain our high levels of service to customers
- Communicating with staff and customers
- Develop and implement transportation strategies and policies to optimise efficiency and reduce costs
Skills & Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Valid O' License.
- Proven experience of managing large transport fleets.
- A confident and skilled communicator up to senior management level
- A general mechanical understanding of fleet vehicles
Profile
A successful Transport Manager should have:
- An educational background in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Experience in transport management within the Transport & Distribution industry
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
