The Transport Supervisor (Nights) will be responsible for overseeing both the Planning and Operations teams during hours not covered by core operational staff.The key responsibilities for the role of Transport Supervisor (Nights) based in Cannock will be:
- Regular monitoring of transport systems.
- Briefing the team with all relevant information from UK Transport conference calls.
- Liaise with the team in relation to WTD – creating & analysing reports, taking action where needed.
- Controlling the management of absence and holidays for the team.
- Ensuring that all training needs for the staff are met.
- Delivering improved organisation capability through the Appraisal and 1-1 process.
- Managing and supporting driver workforce whilst engaged on driving activities to ensure full legal compliance.
- Promoting company Health & Safety and employment policies within the transport operation.
- In conjunction with Customer Services, ensuring depot returns and rebooks are cleared from site as soon as practically possible.
- Orchestrating site trailer checks and ensure data validity with appropriate actions and follow up are coordinated through shift.
- Where necessary, attending network trailer calls to discuss stand trailer pool status across operational sites and compile and execute action points.
The successful candidate for the role of Transport Supervisor (Nights) based in Cannock will have:
- Previous experience in the Transport & Logistics industry.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI's.
- Excellent understanding of Health and Safety processes.
- Energetic and has a natural desire to generate and drive improvements.
- Good people engagement skills, self-driven, positive can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environment.
The successful candidate for the role of Transport Supervisor (Nights) based in Cannock will receive:
- A salary of £31,000 p/a.
- A working schedule of 4 on 4 off Nights.
