Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Troubleshooting Engineer specializing in Rolling Stock, Traction, and Train Control & Management Systems (TCMS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving technical issues related to railway vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in rolling stock, traction systems, and TCMS.
- • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve technical issues.
- • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure quick and effective fault resolution.
- • Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and testing equipment to identify and rectify failures.
- • Support commissioning, testing, and validation of rolling stock systems.
- • Document technical issues, solutions, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- • Liaise with engineering, operations, and OEM teams to enhance system performance.
- • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company protocols.
- • Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance staff and operators.
- • Participate in field tests, system upgrades, and software updates for TCMS.
- • Analyze and troubleshoot the defects or bugs raised or to be raised for various train sub-systems.
- • Monitor and collect real-time data during tests, including performance metrics, safety parameters, and system responses.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Railway Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of railway signaling, traction motors, power electronics, and control systems.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, data loggers, and railway software platforms.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as EN 50128, IEC 61508, and IEEE rail regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work on-site, including night shifts and emergency call-outs if required.
- Knowledge of CCM and defect management tools like Bugzilla, RTC etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with rolling stock manufacturers such as Alstom, Siemens, Bombardier, or Hitachi.
- Hands-on experience with train propulsion and braking systems.
- Certification in railway safety standards and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and control system diagnostics
