We are looking for user researchers on a 12 month fixed term contract to lead teams through our customer-centered venture building process. If you are a passionate, curious, motivated, qualitative research professional, we want to talk to you.
The Role
You will enable our venture teams to learn deeply about their potential customers, uncover pain, and vet early solution ideas. Your work will contribute to developing a pipeline of potential opportunity spaces and customers to pilot different solutions with.
Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
Our typical research process involves open-ended interviews, storyboards and prototypes, as well as custom research to validate/ invalidate hypotheses and better understand risks. This includes:
Working with teams to leverage the user research process
Coaching teams on tactics and best practices for conducting effective customer development research
Developing research and testing strategies and logistics for entrepreneurial teams by assisting in the creation of interviewee recruitment strategies and tactics, interview scripts, storyboards, and prototypes
Leading research synthesis and translating observations into findings
Partnering with designers on the creation of testing stimuli in various degrees of fidelity
Are we the perfect match?
5+ years of relevant work experience
A mix of the following:
Extensive experience of discovery research in a commercial context - applying research methods to conceive, validate and explore a variety of solutions to customer problems
Background in psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, HCI, or behavioral economics
Background in design research/design ops, design, market research, service design
Experience in customer journey mapping
Demonstrated ability to plan and manage research projects, driving them through to completion with minimal guidance
Adept at delivering high-quality research outcomes with time and budget constraints
Willingness to wear different hats and learn/deploy new skills as an entrepreneurial environment requires
Comfort within a fast-paced, collaborative environment with client teams who are often initially uncomfortable with ambiguity
Ability to handle multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
It would be great if you had:
Experience with behavioural science and design is a plus
Experience in the energy sector or other highly regulated industries such as healthcare or banking
