Van Driver - Jackie Wilsher Staff Service : Job Details

We are currently recruiting for a Van Driver to join a company in Leighton Buzzard. The working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm, however, candidates must be flexible to work outside of these hours. Leaving from home no earlier than 5:30 and working no later than 6:00pm.

Our client is currently looking for a committed and experienced van driver to join their busy team. The operations department is fast paced, and delivery drivers are a vital part of ensuring our customers get the service they expect and deserve.

Requirements/specifics of the role:

• The role is to drive a long wheelbase van, and deliver goods to our customers, ensuring deliveries are completed on time, in full.
• Customers are based all over the UK, but the regular routes include the home counties, London (including central) and surrounding areas.
• As an important member of the team there will be a requirement to support the business in other areas including assisting in the warehouse; duties in the warehouse would include picking & packing, goods in, stock takes and other general duties.
• A forklift licence would be beneficial for this but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.
• On occasion and at the customer request put the stock into the stock cupboard and not just in the reception area.

Age re insurance: OVER 23 must have had licence for over 2 years. Experience driving vans is a must and within London would be beneficial.

Points on licence: Ideally 0 no more than 3

Qualifications & Checks: Must be able to clearly read, write and communicate in English. Strong math skills and have some computer skills. DBS clearance will be required due to some of our clients.

Salary/ Package: Staring from 26k depending on experience, food provision for lunch time meals when on site, 30days annual leave including bank holidays + 1 additional day off on your birthday.
