VAT Accountant - Michael Page Finance : Job Details

Joining a strong central finance team based in Runcorn, this role will provide VAT expertise and be the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. Through partnerships with external agencies and by liaising with the organisations Group VAT team, this role will manage and maintain EU compliance and be the key point of expertise for VAT within the business unit.

We're working exclusively with a global manufacturing business, part of the wider group and Europe's leading producer and in the top three worldwide. With circa 4,200 employees, they have manufacturing, sales and marketing operations in eight countries across Europe.

Description

• Responsible for all VAT related general ledger accounts. Ensure they are accurate, fully reconciled and understood each month.
• Responsible for accurate accounting of import duty and import VAT for the businesses legal entities.
• Ensuring the business complies with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax authority requirements for legal entities GB and EU VAT
• Manage relationships with representatives of UK and EU fiscal authorities, and with the group VAT team
• Manage relationships and communication with other members of Finance, including those in over seas entities

Profile

• Proficient with soft wear knowledge SAP - not essential, desirable
• Advanced Excel skills
• Part qualified or qualified by experience
• Experience working in TAX / VAT
• Strong data management skills
