Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex Real Estate VAT advisory projects across commercial and residential sectors
- Drive the growth of the Real Estate VAT practice through business development and client relationship management
- Provide strategic VAT advice on high-profile property transactions including:
- Land and property acquisitions and disposals
- Property development projects
- Transfer of Going Concern (TOGC) transactions
- Option to tax considerations
- Mixed-use developments
- Build-to-rent schemes
- Build and manage key stakeholder relationships with property developers, investors, and funds
- Lead and mentor a growing team of VAT professionals specializing in Real Estate
- Develop thought leadership and technical materials focused on property sector VAT issues
- Represent the firm at Real Estate industry events and speaking engagements
- Work closely with other property service lines to provide integrated solutions
Required Experience & Qualifications
- CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified with substantial post-qualification experience
- Minimum 8-10 years' VAT experience with demonstrable expertise in Real Estate, including:
- Complex TOGC transactions
- Residential vs commercial property treatment
- Property development schemes
- Land and property opt-to-tax history
- Cross-border property transactions
- Strong technical abilities with proven project management skills
- Business development experience within the Real Estate sector
- Experience managing and developing junior team members
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Central London based or able to commit to regular London office presence
