Summary

Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit and we are looking for an enthusiastic and proc-active Visitor Experience Officer to join the team.

Your working pattern will be Tuesday to Saturday (Sunday and Monday off work) each week.

Working bank holidays on a rota may be required to support the delivery of events and busier operations.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Visitor Operations and Experience Manager, you'll be working across the South Worcestershire portfolio, based at Croome, near Pershore.

You'll work closely with a group of dedicated Visitor Experience Volunteers to ensure we always have engaging trails created and produced to a high quality.

There is always an opportunity to work with all departments on enhancing the visitor experience as collaboration is key to the success of how we work.

What you'll be doing

As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on creating wonderful experiences that welcome and inspire all our visitors and volunteers. This might include devising and running events and activities and finding other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here.

You may be encouraging visitors to take a closer look at a particular collection, checking presentation around the sites or helping write copy for web pages and social media.

You’ll be a duty manager on a rota with colleagues for the RAF Visitor centre ensuring the smooth operation during our opening hours and liaising with colleagues across the site.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you’re:

  • used to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload
  • skilled in organisation and planning, with a good eye for detail
  • good at talking to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
  • a hard-working and committed team player
  • comfortable with IT: Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media
  • experienced in producing interpretive materials, such as displays and exhibitions, and marketing or promotional materials
  • familiar with health and safety procedures
