Job Location : Stoke-on-Trent, UK
Our client, a leader in its field, is seeking a Warehouse/Logistics Manager to join their Ops Management team. This role will be based at their site in Tunstall, working with a small but highly effective team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of products, implementing a robust production plan, managing asset/material availability, and coordinating the Sales & Operational Planning process.
Key Responsibilities:
Prioritise the safety of staff and customers at all times by abiding by the current Safety, Health, and Environment policy. Take responsibility for the safe execution of transport operations out of the Tunstall site.Manage a team of Warehouse & Logistics personnel, including Delivery Drivers, DG Shippers (Local and Export), Material Coordinators, and Warehouse Operatives. Ensure the implementation of warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training certifications.Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor department performance.Collaborate with Production & Planning Teams to enhance overall operations capabilities.Manage Goods in/Goods out activities.Coordinate the UK Spec Gas S&OP (Sales & Operational Planning) process, working across different functions.Ensure sufficient stock, materials, and assets are available to meet demand forecasts.Determine the optimal method of delivery from supply to customer (UK and Export), with a focus on reducing costs and lead times.Drive and support continuous improvement programmes across the UK business and other European operations.Contribute to the site emergency management team, including up to Site Main Controller.

Ability to lead, develop, coach, and inspire a multi-skilled team.Strategic thinking abilities.Strong organisational and logical skills.Proficiency in chairing and coordinating cross-functional processes/meetings.Excellent presentation skills to provide clear and concise information for strategic and tactical decision-making.Strong analytical mindset and literacy skills.
Desirable, but not essential:
Experience in managing drivers including training, despatch, and planning.Previous leadership, management, or supervisory experience of at least 5-10 people.Knowledge and experience of production, materials distribution planning tools, and processes.
