Our client is a leading supplier of high-quality textiles and homewares, this is a local company of long standing who are expanding their operations and need additional support for their Operations Manager this role is integral to their expansion plans.
They are selling directly to consumers and through major trade marketplaces such as Amazon, Debenhams, TJX (TK Maxx), and Tesco. With a rapidly expanding business and three warehouses, they are seeking a highly organised Operations Assistant to support their Operations Manager in managing logistics, coordinating shipments, and improving operational processes.
Role Overview
As an Operations Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient operations across multiple warehouses, supporting import/export processes, and assisting in system implementation. Your primary responsibilities will include shipment tracking, liaising with trade marketplace partners, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting the Operations Manager in streamlining workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse & Logistics Coordination: Assist in managing shipments across three warehouses, ensuring smooth order fulfilment for major trade partners.
- Import & Export Support: Work closely with the Import & Export teams to track shipments, manage compliance documentation, and optimise freight schedules.
- Trade Marketplace Liaison: Communicate with clients and suppliers to confirm orders, resolve logistics issues, and maintain strong relationships.
- System Implementation & Data Management: Support the transition to Microsoft Business Central, ensuring accurate record-keeping and contributing to process improvements.
- Inventory & Documentation: Maintain stock records, shipment schedules, and compliance documentation for trade and regulatory purposes.
- Problem-Solving & Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in warehouse workflows and suggest improvements to enhance productivity.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in logistics, warehouse administration, or supply chain coordination.
- Strong administrative skills, particularly in tracking shipments, managing stock, and handling compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with import/export regulations and trade compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/WMS systems (experience with Microsoft Business Central is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, freight partners, and trade clients.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple warehouses.
