Hours: 12 hour shifts 7pm - 7am Nights (4 on 4 off Rota)

Our client is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service. This role involves managing daily activities, driving performance improvements, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

The role:

• Team Management:Supervise, train, and support a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with company policies.
• Operational Oversight:Oversee daily warehouse operations including order picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the fulfilment of orders.
• Performance Monitoring:Track and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
• Health & Safety:Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular risk assessments and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Inventory Control:Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and coordinate with other departments to manage stock flow and prevent discrepancies.
• Problem-Solving:Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in warehouse operations, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Reporting:Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, including productivity metrics and any operational challenges.
• Process Improvement:Identify and suggest improvements to warehouse processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The successful candidate:

• Experience:Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a warehousing or logistics environment.
• Leadership Skills:Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and motivating a team.
• Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and other departments.
• Organisational Skills:Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Problem-Solving:Adept at identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Health & Safety Knowledge:Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a warehousing setting.
• Technical Skills:Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic IT skills.

Qualifications:

• Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in health and safety or warehousing (e.g., IOSH, forklift truck license) are advantageous but not required.
