Location: West DraytonJob Title: Welfare and Attendance OfficerContract Type: PermanentHours: 36 hours per week, term-time only 38 weeksWorking Pattern: Monday to Friday - Two days from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Three days from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch breakStart Date: Early to mid-December 2024

We are seeking a proactive and supportive Welfare and Attendance Officer to join our dedicated team at a warm and vibrant school in West Drayton. In this important role, you will provide welfare support to pupils, administer first aid, monitor attendance, and liaise with parents and external agencies. We are looking for an organised and compassionate professional, ready to contribute positively to our school's ethos and aims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pupil Welfare & First Aid: Deliver medical assistance and care to pupils, ensuring welfare needs are met. Administer medication as outlined in care plans, maintain first aid supplies, and manage medical records.
  • Attendance Management: Act as the main contact for monitoring and managing pupil attendance, liaising with parents and following up on absences.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Work closely with pupils, staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to support pupil well-being and attendance.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate medical and attendance records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to school policies.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in working with primary-aged children, with strong administrative skills and proficiency in IT (Word, Excel).
  • Holds or is willing to obtain First Aid certifications (Paediatric First Aid and First Aid at Work).
  • Has excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships within the school and with external stakeholders.
  • Shows a positive approach to pupil welfare, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
