Job Title: Windows Infrastructure Engineer

Client: Fintech Firm

Contract: 12 month (potential to go perm)

Salary: £70,000 - £110,000

Location: London

This position requires expertise in Windows Server platforms/Azure and associated technologies, coupled with a background in automation.

*Experience with Windows 11 is needed for this position*

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the configuration and maintenance of Domain Services
• Spearhead the implementation and support of cross-platform integrations
• Undertake day-to-day maintenance of server estate
• Deploy and configure MS Windows Server 2016 and 2019 across physical and virtual systems using our automated build process (MDT/VMware).
• Architect, construct, and refine internal Windows automation systems and workflows
• Ensure our server estate remains up-to-date with the latest OS patches, firmware, and driver stacks.
• Create application packages using PowerShell
• Develop reusable modules with PowerShell and/or Python, integrating them with CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins to automate testing and deployments.
• Enhance monitoring and visibility of our server estate through
• Document procedures and write run-books.
• Collaborate on the selection, design, and implementation of new system designs alongside key stakeholders, encompassing servers, data storage systems, and backup systems.
• Share the responsibility of weekend on-call rotation duties, embodying our team spirit and commitment to excellence.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• Previous experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment building/maintaining infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud
• PowerShell/Ruby/Python.
• Familiarity with configuration management
• Experience with application packaging and package management systems like SSCM.
• Proficiency in Windows cluster services and SQL server
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot HTTP Kerberos Authentication on IIS or other web server platforms.
• Experience implementing GPOs (Group Policy in Active Directory).
