Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a Work Experience Co-ordinator on a Part-time, permanent basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £19,862.40 per annum (Full Time Equivalent £24,828).

The Role:

As our Work Experience Co-ordinator, you will work closely alongside the commercial and Curriculum Teams and as well as other key departments such as Business Development, Apprenticeships, Marketing and Careers Advisors supporting placements across the College. An essential aspect of the role is to work closely with colleagues across all curriculum areas to ensure students are prepared for their industry placements opportunities.

Responsibilities as our Work Experience Co-ordinator:

• Engage with employers and other organisations to build relationships in order to explore opportunities for student industry placements and liaise on suitable candidates.
• Work with Academic Tutors and other curriculum staff to visit student groups to prepare them for industry placement. Activities may include:
• development of a CV with students, specifically to be used to apply for a work placement.
• Guide and support student learning/training activities in relation to placement activity.
• Arrange visits to students on their industry placements, to:
• Ensure students have been given a proper induction (to include health and safety)
• Ensure students complete a learning log whilst on placement
• Evaluate work placement impact on students’ learning, progress and destination
• Liaison with Academic Tutors and placement provider is an essential part of this activity
• Ensure all industry placements have been set up and authorised in accordance with the College’s Health & Safety industry placement procedure and agreed with our Health & Safety Officer.
• Respond and deal with placements regarding queries, problems and complaints.

As our Work Experience Co-ordinator, you’llideally have:

• Minimum GCSE level 2 in English and Math’s or equivalent
• Demonstrate experience of building rapport and strong relationships with clients
• Knowledge of the skills and personal qualities needed by students for the employment sector/organisations for which they are being prepared.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to helping students in their personal development.
