Job DescriptionWe're recruiting for aWorkplace Health and Safety Advisorto join us. We're offering a competitive base salary. This is a key role to support the implementation of the Health & Safety strategy for Legal & General Group. Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, this role will advise and report on safety risks, issues and incidents for the Global Legal & General Workplace estate. This role will often be the first point of contact for employee safety queries and partner closely with our Property & Workplace team to ensure a safe working environment is provided for our employees. What you'll be doing:
  • Managing the Group Health & Safety helpdesk monitoring and responding to employee queries, escalating as appropriate
  • Ensuring suitable coverage across the L&G global estate for fire marshals and first aiders
  • Supporting the emergency preparedness programme (eg fire evacuation) by co-ordinating planning and process alongside our Property & Workplace team
  • Supporting the risk assessment process for work related activity and events
  • Managing the Workplace corrective actions process, ensuring that safety reports are monitored and the team responsible for closing out the actions are supported appropriately with subject matter expert guidance
  • Logging, monitoring and investigating incidents and near misses across the L&G Workplace estate. Contributing to the provision of H&S training, information and engagement with colleagues
  • Overseeing the ergonomics programme at L&G, ensuring suitable guidance is given to employees and acting as a first point of contact for queries relating to display screen equipment
  • Attending site location committees as the subject matter expert responsible for Health & Safety.
QualificationsWho we're looking for: Must have:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Knowledge of DSE regulations and providing ergonomics guidance.
  • Previous experience co-ordinating emergency plans for large sites.
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge & experience of workplace Health & Safety (offices) at a global business.
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of an ISO 45001 certified management system.
  • GradIOSH membership.
  • Industry networker.
