Y1 Teacher - part time - Apex Education Recruitment : Job Details

Recruiting a suitably qualified Year 1 teacher to job share with a very experienced member of SLT to be released for their management duties. A fantastic opportunity for a part time teaching role to plan, teach and support as a job share with an experienced teacher in this Year 1 classroom, based in a school in Rochester, Medway. The staff are a great team and would like the teacher to be made welcome into the school 'family'.

Start date: 9 January 2025 - Thursdays and Fridays until July 2025 (may continue September 2025)

Salary - MPS

Are you an experienced and strong KS1 Teacher who has experience teaching the Year 1 curriculum with a range of students with SEN through to gifted students would be advantageous.

Year 1 Teacher Role:

• To have some knowledge of planning & teaching the KS1 curriculum
• The role requires someone who is versatile and resourceful, with the ability to teach fun and insightful lessons that will engage all students.
• To plan as a team with the job share teacher (part of SLT)
• Classroom management and organisational skills
• To work with and manage a team of TAs within the class who work with some of the SEN students
• Use teaching and learning resources and support provided effectively to ensure excellent planning and delivery of lessons and teaching standards.
• Great sense of humour

Qualifications & Skills:

• KS1 - year 1 recent teaching & planning knowledge is essential
• Must have up-to-date knowledge of integrating SEN students into the learning within the class
• Right to work in the UK.
• Qualified with QTS is essential
